Food Drive in Support of Dorothy Day

THE COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY CLUB OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY (CUCFC), CT, CORDIALLY INVITES YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR SPECIAL DAY OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AT THE STOP & SHOP IN DANBURY.

For years, CUCFC has contributed to Fairfield community in line with Columbia University’s commitment to making a difference in communities world-wide through its alumni groups.  In 2023, we restarted our much-valued giving-back activity with an Operation Hope Food Drive in Fairfield Town. Our next Community Service project of 2023 is a Food Drive in Danbury supporting DOROTHY DAY HOSPITALITY HOUSE, a food bank serving Danbury area that served 45,000 meals last year.

Volunteers do all the work at Dorothy Day House -- there is no paid staff. In addition, Dorothy Day Hospitality House is based on the Houses of Hospitality founded by Dorothy Day during the Great Depression. Dorothy Day Hospitality House is not formally affiliated with any religious organization, and people of all faiths participate in their work.

To volunteer for the Food Drive event, on the right screen, please input how many other people you are bringing (children must be 13 years or older), then click your choice of 2-hour shift(s), then click "SEND RSVP" to register.
